Questions & Answers

When you make characters for your books, do you base them off of real people/friends?
How were the characters of Alice and Grimalkin developed?

Answer:

No the only characters that might be loosely based on real people are Mam (my Mother) and Tom and John Gregory (they both have a little of me in them). Other wise they just come into my head or out of the story itself. For instance I didn't know Bill Arkwright was going to be like that until I started writing him. I had a very different idea of him when I first conceived of him. I am pretty happy I don't know anyone like Grimalkin, although she would be a good friend to have.
